Center for Health Care Strategies

The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is conducting research and analysis to identify policy and practice innovations that could accelerate behavioral integration in California. This includes a particular focus on emerging collaborations between health plans and county behavioral health agencies that support population health management across separate financing and delivery systems for mild to moderate mental health, serious mental health and substance use treatment.

CHCS has produced the following resources on this topic:

Webinar: Medi-Cal Coverage of Mild-to-Moderate Mental Health Conditions: The Current Landscape and Opportunities for Improvement

The Importance of Data Sharing to Support Integration of Substance Use Treatment in California's Medi-Cal Program

Promising Practices to Integrate Mental Health for Medi-Cal Members
